NPM Poems 6-7 Concerning Writer's Block

It doesn't look like anyone has taken me up on my Challenge yet, or if they did they haven't shared them with me. I guess I don't need to see them though as long as they are at least thinking about it. :)

Though if you aren't trying, I guess I can't blame you. I was just thinking how awful it was that on the 7th day of National Poetry Month, and only my 3rd day of the challenge, that I was completely unable to come up with anything to write about. It was such a shame since I was already a poem behind from my late start.

And then I wrote these.

"Block"

Completely
utterly
totally
indefinitely
at least currently
most perturbably
shockingly
(it is so strange
that I would be
this now)
unmovingly
statically
frustratingly
perplexingly
damnedly
uninspired.

"Cleared Out"

My head is completely
empty
Emptier than a cereal box
laden with crumbs
emptier than a stripped Christmas tree
tossed to the curb
its festive decoration stolen and boxed
emptier than a canon
that still has its rocks
emptier than a wallet
the day before it's paid
Emptier than a water bottle
that crackles and pops
full of air
Emptier than a chat room
cleared out by an annoying
asshole
Emptier than the tummies of the starved
which gargle with fluid
Emptier than the pockets on brand new jeans
Emptier than the endless bottom of the sea
which at least has its mystery
and its monsters
Emptier than space
with all its damn moons
Empty
empty empty
the equivalence of nothing
no ideas, no words
emptier than a poem
that hasn't been written
