The 11th hour..or, um, Month

Back in March I noted that 2010 was turning out to be quite a big event kind of year. (see blog here.)

So far, I haven't been wrong. We are in the 11th month of the year. The end is, comparatively, in sight. (Even if it is a touch early for all those Christmas commercials I just sat through.)

Unfortunately, 2010 has been able to lean more toward the yang or is it yin? Whatever the bad one is. (Though, technically, I guess according to their actual theory neither one is wholly bad: see.)

My point is 2010 has knocked it out of the park with big catastrophic events, personally and globally.

It's not everyday that you get to wake to the reports that a volcano exploded and that villagers were killed because they listened to their spirit guide and went to the fields to work instead of fleeing as they very well should have. Unless it's a day in 2010.

And the level of bad for the big 2010 is taking all shades. Since when do Cruise Ships lose electricity? Since when does my shower's curtain rod conduct electricity?

Of course big good things are happening too, like that little old couple in Canada that won all that money (11.2 million) and gave it away! Though not as grand, even I myself was able to tackle a few financial obstacles.

There are gray issues as well. The Health Care Bill, whether you love it or hate it, is big. The economy is on the mend, though because it wasn't instant most people don't care and many are still feeling the sting of when it was on the dive.

My personal life is just the same. Significant gains and promising ventures; and precarious endangerments and devastating loses.

I'm still mad at 2009 for killing the celebrities, especially Heath Ledger and the Toys R Us Giraffe, Jeffery, but 2010 seems to want to throw a complete shadow over the rest of the years. Granted it hasn't been all bad. The good things that have happened, have been significant, but as the year comes to a close I'm beginning to feel that more significant bad things have happened than good have.

There is still a month and a half left. 2010 could still surprise us. But I think at this point we may be better off holding out for a beautiful and exemplary 2011.

So, with that in mind, I'm ready to say sayonara to the big 20-10 and hola 2011, don't forget the to bring the comeuppance.
