It seems the longer I live it, the more surprising, astounding, and simply amazing life gets. Instead of getting boring or common or predictable, it just keeps changing and knocking me off my feet.
I'm not saying we don't learn as we go. I'm not saying things don't stay the same as well. Certainly they do. They certainly must. Human nature for instance. It seems to remain stagnated over time. We change, we grow, we invent the wheel, the flying wheel, the digital device that allows the wheel to talk to other wheels, the clapper- but we remain, in so many deep ways, precisely the same.
And yet there is something surprising about that sameness. Something that shocks us, upsets us, makes us smile or cry, makes us wonder... makes us continue on realizing that we can never figure it out no matter how hard we try... and that only makes us solider on with more diligence.
Perhaps it is bland and expected to simply ponder the meaning of it all- the miraculous randomness of everything.
The earth gave us all that we needed and we wanted more, and yet it still feeds us.
