Things have been a little crazy lately. There is so much going on, the new mantra of my life, but more than that. Good things are finally starting to happen as well. All big of course. It is the trend of 2010.
One thing I found out about this year is a place called Green Path. Lots of people are having financial issues lately (in case you haven't been reading the news) and so I'm surprised that Green Path is so underrepresented in the media.
They are a place that helps you take care of debt without declaring bankruptcy- though they will help you with that too if you need it. They are nonprofit, partly funded by the government, and have been in business over 50 years. They negotiate with creditors and bill collectors for you- cutting interest rates and monthly payments to something you can afford. They put the end of your debt in sight.
They are free to contact and free to consult. They'll even help you plan a budget if that is all it turns out you need. They can knock a 30% interest down to a 5% interest.
The only catch is- if it is credit cards you are dealing with- you have to close the cards that they are helping you with. That is it. Literally. A very good friend of mine who is a lawyer gave them an 1 hour third degree with 2 other lawyers, and a quick little background check proved it all true!
I couldn't beleive it when I heard it, but it is true. Here is their website:
http://www.greenpath.com/
If you know someone who needs it, or if you need it yourself, give them a call. It's totally free to do so. And spread the word! There is no shortage of people who could use help right now.
Why do good things so often go unnoticed??
