The P word

I've been thinking a lot about productivity lately. It's so arbitrary. I mean any little thing is progress, but when we use the word to describe ourselves we mean that we've been getting a lot, or a least a significant amount of work accomplished. I think accomplished is a key word here as well. We're not simply getting things done. We are accomplishing something. We feel pride. Which is why we need to announce that we were "productive."

So is that the key? The sense of accomplishment? Perhaps it is. You must feel that some kind of significant change was made to feel accomplished? Or no?

Lately I've been settling for doing at least 2 productive items a day. I'm hoping this will head off my normal inclination to procrastination, another favorite P word.

But perhaps semi-productivity is just another type of procrastination.
