Realistic vs Stick Man

So I'm trying to decide what to do exactly with my photos. 

I'm drawing them all which of course leaves me the choice between realistic or basic. I think I'm going to go basic, since the focus of the project is about the interaction of the reader and the story, so in theory most of the visuals would be in your mind.

But then I thought about making the pictures more realistic as the reader gets deeper into the story. But I didn't know if that would be too confusing. I think I'll stick with basic for now... hmm. 

Also I might get a cat this weekend. This is completely off subject. I used to be really allergic. In theory I still am, but did ok sleeping at my aunts. I need a way to test this theory before I bring the little darling home.
